The website is intended to provide members of the public and publishing organisations with a means to learn about and enter the Comedy Women in Print Prize.

How and why your data is collected: Cookies
When you use this website no data about you is collected by Comedy Women in Print unless you enter the prize, subscribe for updates or use the ‘Contact Us’ form.
A Cookie can be defined as a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user's web browser while the user is
browsing that website.
There are two ways to enter the prize on the website. One is for members of the public to enter unpublished authors’ manuscripts. The second is for publishers to enter their authors’ novels. The competition is open to female (identified) authors including non-binary writing in the English language, of any nationality over the age of 18 on the closing date (28 May 2021 for the 2021 prize). The personal data obtained via each method is different and set out below.
The details given on your entry form will be stored in a WIX database.

Publishers will be asked to complete the entry form and to submit a PDF to firstname.lastname@example.org and 2 copies of each book entered via post to the address named in the guidelines. Further copies will be requested for long listed entries. The details given on the entry form will be stored in a WIX database.
In the event of being successfully selected as a longlisted book, to offset some of the processing costs, £50 will be required from the publisher and a further £50 for shortlisted entries. In the event of being successfully selected as a shortlisted published novel the publisher is required to sticker copies of the Published novel with artwork provided by CWIP. Artwork will also be provided for the winning novel.

Comedy Cringe Flash Competition
Entries must be in English language. They must be the work of the entrant and must not have been published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
The competition is international and welcomes non-UK entrants.
The competition is open to anyone who identifies as a woman.
Entrants must be 16 years of age or older on the closing date.
Only manuscripts which are under and within the 250-word limit will be accepted.
Copyright remains with the author.
The opening date for entries is 00:01 on 23rd August and closes 23:59 on 9th September 2021 (UK time).
The winner will be notified by email.
Entries, and personal information supplied by the entrant, will be stored in a secure WIX database.
Comedy Women in Print will hold your personal data and entry for the duration of the prize processing timeline. After this time your personal data will be destroyed with the exception of the details of the winner (Name and entry).
The results of the competition will be published by Comedy Women in Print, Black Girl Writers, and People in People in Harmony - Making Mixed Race Matter, on websites, social media, and any other promotional material. We reserve the right to publish the results in any other means which supports the mission of Comedy Women in Print.
The prize will be provided in GBP£, and cannot be exchanged.
The winner will be invited to the CWIP Award Event in London, UK, on the 8th November 2021. CWIP will not be liable for any travel expenses.
Accuracy of your data
The data about you we receive from PayPal will only be as accurate as that stored in your PayPal account or that entered when making a card donation. Please ensure your information is correct and up-to-date and that you have followed the guidelines before submitting payment. Any entries that do not meet the eligibility criteria and format requirements will be disqualified.
The data stored from your entry form will be as you have entered it.
If you become aware that you have submitted inaccurate personal data please use the website’s email address to let us know.
How long your data is held
Comedy Women in Print will hold your personal data for the duration of the prize processing timeline for the year you have entered and the time thereafter to fulfil the sending of prizes and any outstanding queries. After this time your personal data will be destroyed with the exception of the details of the winners who will be given further notification of what data will be kept and when information will be displayed on the website (Author Name and Title of Novel only).
Obtaining a copy of your data or contacting us about the processing of your data
To obtain a copy of the data that the Comedy Women in Print holds about you from your interaction with this fundraising campaign, please use the email@example.com email address and clearly state that you are making a ‘Subject Access Request’.
An administration fee of up to £10 may be charged in order to service your request.
If you have any other query relating to the processing of your data please ensure you have read this Policy fully and then if you require further information please use the email address on the website to make your request.
Sharing your data and marketing
Comedy Women in Print does not pass on your details for marketing purposes to any third party. Your information will be passed on to judges. Judges will receive different information depending on whether the entries are made via the published authors or unpublished authors route. Winners names and titles of their novel will be published on the Comedywomeninprint.co.uk website and in a press release that will be shared to media.
Sharing your data: Published Authors
Judges will receive a copy of your book.
Sharing your data: Unpublished Authors
Judges will receive an electronic copy of the file you uploaded and your entry number, which is automatically created by the database.
If shortlisted, authors will be asked to forward their completed manuscripts via a website link provided. The manuscript will be forwarded to the judges anonymised.
Comedy Women in Print will hold personal data in a secure database. Personal data will not be extracted for reporting purposes with the following exception of data required to process longlisted, shortlisted and winning entries.
